Couple of Cards

Happy Friday everyone! I'm here today to share with you a couple of cards that I honestly did just whip  together with some scraps that were left on my desk. I love to make cards after I get done making a layout. There is usually enough stuff left over on my desk to put one or two together.

These were made using some My Mind's Eye...

This first one was super quick and simple as the leaves and flowers were already pre-cut and just sitting there waiting to be used.

Another pretty simple one that utilizes a bunch of thin cut strips of patterned paper.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. We are enjoying some beautiful weather in our parts, should be perfect for the soccer and baseball games on our schedule.

1 stamp 3 ways...

Happy Wednesday all! Today I'm here with a trio of cards. All of these cards were made using the same stamp set in three completely different ways.

The set that I used today is Papertrey Ink's Heart to Heart #7.

Card #1 - this one pretty much used the stamps as you see them...

Card #2 - of this one I used two of the leaf stamps to create these geometric circles

Card #3 - I used the leaf stamps to create the outer edges of the three flowers.

All three were pretty simple an easy to put together. I love that a little $5 stamp set can be used for so many different looks!

Ahhhh....

These were the good times...having your bestie in the same class as you. This year they were split up, at first I thought this would be a good thing. However, after a two weeks plus of clinging and crying every morning as I am trying to leave her classroom I find myself wishing they were together again! She never cried in preschool or kindergarten, this has me a bit perplexed. Oh well, I know it will pass and eventually there will some new really good friends. I'm just praying the transition comes about quickly...she's breaking my heart. I did notice another little girl having some of the same emotions and talked to her mom. She came over after school a few days ago for a play date and that seems to have helped them both out a bit. We made it through Thursday and Friday with no tears!

This layout uses a Studio Calico kit...City of Lights if I remember correctly!

I saw an arrow shape on the Silhouette website that was very similar to this, and I knew it was an easy one for me to re-create on my own, so I made my own cut file for it. Super easy...I should so do that more often!

Hope you are all having a wonderful Monday!

A Love Like No Other...

Hi peeps! I'm here today to share with you a card and a layout that I made for the My Mind's Eye September challenge called "Make it Work". This challenge was to make a layout and then use the remnants from the layout  or coordinating products to make a card.

I started with the photos, after I printed them out I knew right away that I wanted to use the Lost & Found 2 line.

Then the matching card...

For both of these projects I pulled out some of my Papertrey Ink dies and put them to use! Thanks for stopping by to take a peek! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings...

I have four of them that are very near and dear to my heart. I made this layout last week for the Clear Scraps blog. My post was to go up on 9/11, so I tried to make a project that to me was pertinent to the date that forever changed all of our lives. Every year when that date draws near I sadly remember all of those thousands of people whose lives were so deeply impacted by the tragedy. Which then makes me so very thankful for what I have and for those four sweet little faces that look at me every day.

This layout started with some papers and other products from the Indie Chic line by My Mind's Eye. The Clear Scrap Small Word Blessings was added right on top of the photo. To embellish the word I ran a strip of washi tape across the middle of the word, using my craft knife I then cut the tape off of all of the edges and middles of the letters. Next I outlined the word with a Zig paint pen.

The little wooden heart is from Studio Calico (love those!)

I love this photo. I take this exact same photo every year on Labor Day. This is the sixth year now, ever since my daughter was born...so fun to go back and compare the differences from year to year.

Take a Hike

Hi again! Back to share with you a couple of cards that I made for Simple Stories using their new Take a Hike collection. This collection has such a fun color combination and the papers will be so versatile.
For these cards I went with the general theme of the collection. The images on the sticker sheets were just too adorable too not put to use!!!

Isn't that camper and trailer not the cutest?!!!

I am still swooning over this striped paper...pretty sure you will all be seeing a lot of it from me!

Hope you all take a few minutes to hug and squeeze your loved ones today. It's hard to believe that it has already been eleven years since 9/11. So thankful for all of those in my life!

Phew...summer has come to end

The weather is still beautiful, but the kids are back in school. Which for me meant a free day to go buy a new computer and many free days after that attempting to get it and all of the programs I need up and running. So, yeah...if you saw my last post you know the story of my last computer (little mishap with some...ok a lot...of hard cider). Thought we had conquered that problem, sad to say it was a temporary fix and then it died about 6 weeks after I got it back. No amount of CPR could save it. Insert very sad face here.

I'm back now with a new shiny little love of my life...insert happy face here. Which means I can get back to blogging too.

Fortunately, I have lots I can share with you over the next couple of weeks. Today I am going to start with a layout that I did for Clear Scraps using one of the XL Scallop acrylic sheets and some My Mind's Eye papers.

Photo is of me and my second son (yes I really do have a blue streak in my hair!...just temporary for the 4th of July!)

Used a paint pen around the edges as well as some baker's twine for a little extra embellishing. Flowers were all made using the Lovely Layers die set from Papertrey Ink.

Thanks for taking a peek today!
