Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

It's the 25th of the month which means that it is time for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. This month it is all about the color pink. Perfect considering that Valentine's day is right around the corner.

For starters we were given this mood board as the inspiration piece…

Here is my creation. I wanted to incorporate my love of watercolor painting for this one.

I started by heat embossing the Love in white onto a piece of watercolor paper . Next I lightly wet the entire piece of watercolor paper and added a wash of Raspberry Fizz making sure to leave some areas less saturated with color. Then on these lighter areas I generation stamped the heart from the Happy Hearts stamp set, I made sure that the paper was still a bit damp as I really wantede the hearts to have a dreamy look. After it was dry I machine stitched it onto my card front and stamped the rest of the sentiment in Smoky Shadow.

The 'x' and 'o' were die cut out of Raspberry Fizz, stitched with white floss and then I added glitter to the middle of both.

Supplies:
Stamps: Happy Hearts, The Best is Yet to Be
Dies: Valentine Stitches Die
Cardstock and Ink: Raspberry Fizz, Fresh Snow, Smoky Shadow

Thanks for hopping by today!!!

A little thing called "Pinspiration"!

Happy new year everyone. A bit late with the sentiment I know, but this is my first post of 2014!
We had a very relaxing holiday break, we were hoping for some snow but none of us complained about the sun and lack of rain! Skiing was a no go, but we all became very familiar with the Settlers of Catan board game. I highly recommend it if you haven't played it yet!

Today I have a layout to share with the is inspired by a layout that has been pinned to the My Mind's Eye Pinterest boards. This is a monthly feature on the MME blog and this month I was up at bat. THIS
is the layout that I was inspired by, made by the very talented Brenda Ragsdale.

I used the Cut & Paste: Adorbs collection for this. Loved all of the triangles that Brenda used on her layout. I decided to create a scattering of flowers using triangles made from many different pieces of patterned paper.

My daughter had been begging me to let her cut her hair, nine inches gone and this what she looks like. I'm happy with it, but it makes her look too darn old! :(

Super excited for all of the new My Mind's Eye CHA releases! Have you seen them yet?! I was lucky enough to work with the Now and Then: Milo and Mildred.
Great color schemes and many new super fun products. Can hardly stand waiting for my big box of goodies to arrive!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek!
